This position works closely with farm owners to coordinate all production and field management aspects of the farm. You will be trained in all our systems, and may work with farm owners, alone, or lead other crew members. You will help with harvest multiple days a week, and other tasks as needed, but your focus will be on field tasks.
We work four days a week, nine hour days, with a paid 1/2 hour lunch break. MTWF. If interested, Farmers Market shifts may be available on Thursday or Saturday.
Position ideally begins in mid-April, and goes through at least the end of October, but we have year-round work for the right candidate. We will give preference to candidates willing to make a multi-year commitment.
Job Responsibilities You will work closely with farm owners to execute production plans, harvest lots of beautiful veggies, keep employees on track throughout the day, and prevent/control disease, pests, and weed issues. Tasks may include the following: Harvest vegetables and supervise other crew members for speed, quality control
Transplant by hand and with paper pot transplanter
Direct Seed crops with Jang seeder
Coordinate and execute hand transplanting with other crew members
Weed management using tools including: hand hoes, flame weeder, silage tarps, hand weeding, etc.
Installing insect netting and shade cloth where needed
Executing pre-tillage bed prep, including removing prior crop residue, paper pot chains, perennial weeds, etc.
Setting up and running irrigation
Fertility management: applying pre-crop amendments, side dressing, weekly fertigation in tunnels
Supervising crew members when they are assisting you on field tasks
Scouting for disease and pests in field crops, communicating issues to farm owners, applying organic interventions when necessary
Mowing field perimeters
Skills Desired At least one season working on a vegetable farm, multiple seasons preferred. Experience with paperpot and Jang systems would be ideal. Strong communication and time management skills. Ability to lead other crew members in completing tasks with accuracy while setting the pace. Ability to lift 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Great attitude while working outdoors in all weather. Standing, kneeling or crouching for extended periods. Ability to receive instruction and feedback with an open mind, and give feedback as well! We are always looking to improve our systems and farm culture.
Compensation: Pay starts at $17-$20+/hour, depending on experience, plus bountiful farmer grade and market return vegetables. We try not to schedule over 40 hours/week, but we pay overtime when applicable. $500 bonus for all employees who complete our “market season” through October 15th. Two paid personal/sick days for the market season. (Additional paid time off for year-round employees.) Up to one week unpaid vacation, must be coordinated early in the season with farm owners $150 gear stipend, available after the first month.
On-farm housing is not available, but we may be open to hosting a camper (supplied by us or you) or tiny home on our property for the right candidate.

Crew Member
\We are looking for one more energetic and motivated person to join our team this season, from May – October 15th, with potential for late season and/or year round part time work.
We work four days a week, nine hour days, with a paid 1/2 hour lunch break. MTWF. If interested, half day Farmers Market shifts may be available on Thursday or Saturday. We grow 2 acres of vegetables following Organic methods (though not certified), and raise pigs on pasture.
Your job will focus on our vegetable operation, with an emphasis on harvest, wash/pack, weeding, and planting. Must be able to work outside in all weather; stand, kneel, or crouch for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently. We take great pride in the quality, freshness, beauty and taste of our produce, and you will help us bring the best products to our customers.
Previous farm experience is a plus, but a good attitude and work ethic is much more important! Those who have excelled working in restaurants, landscaping and other outdoor/manual labor could be a good fit. We are willing to train on the job. We value punctuality, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to work quickly and learn on the job.
